Now that T-Mobile and other carriers are enabling text message via Starlink, we’re able to send messages from anywhere, not just areas covered by phone service. Now you can use that feature to answer basic questions using the TXT2GPT gateway. Simply send a text message to +1 206-330-3792, and you’ll receive a response to your query. For now, each phone number is limited to ten requests.

If you use this service, you agree that we may ask you to fill out a survey in the next week or so. There’s no obligation. We won’t spam you or sell your data.

GPT 4.1 nano. We tentatively plan on enabling bigger models for a paid tier in the future.

Where is the source code?

We commit to open-sourcing this, but if we continue, we intend a big rewrite, so will defer open-sourcing for a while.

Can I self-host my own service?

Yes, we intend to post self-hosting instructions with the source code. Note that while you could save on LLM provider costs by self-hosting that as well, there’s also the SMS service cost to consider.
